Will You Lift Me Up?

Sometimes your fancy theology dries up and you're left washed up, feeling alone and abandoned by God. Loved ones die, promises are broken, hope for the future evaporates. Sometimes you need the faithfulness of others to carry you through difficult days.
some words...
Will you lift me up before your lord?
Will you lift me up before his throne?
Will you lift me up before your lord?
‘Cos my strength is spent and my spirit cold

Will you say a prayer for my wife and child
Will you say a prayer before his throne?
Will you say a prayer for my wife and child
‘Cos i can't seem to find the words no more

Will you hold my hand when the cold wind blows?
Will you hold my hand before his throne?
Will you hold my hand when the cold wind blows?
‘Cos i can't seem to feel His hand no more

I'll hold your hand and I'll say your prayers
I'll lift you up and I'll cry your tears
I'll pour my faith into your empty cup
And we'll walk this road to the bitter end
And we'll walk this road till the God of grace reveals his hand

I'll hold your hand and I'll say your prayers
...and their inspiration
2 Corinthians 1:3-7

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us.
