Someone once said "If you want a job done properly, do it yourself." And so, it would figure that while books and prophets certainly have their place, when God wanted to show the human race exactly how we had been designed to live, the best way would be by becoming human like us and giving us a face-to-face demonstration.
some words...
Gabriel comes over, says he wants to speak to Mary,
Since Gabriel is bigger I agree
Gabriel looks down, and his eyes are full of flame
Mary is a little girl but she has courage

Do not be afraid Mary, do not be afraid
I have got some news for you that will make
You feel kind of special, the world will know your name
But it's gonna bring you sadness and it's gonna bring you pain

Mary are you listening, 'cos I'll only say this once
You're gonna have a baby but no daddy
Well that ain't strictly true, 'cos the father is the Father
And his name will be Emmanuel, God with us

Gabriel takes off and he flies into the sun
Mary is left wondering what she has done
Joseph isn't sure, should he give the girl the flick
Better make your mind up and you'd better make it quick

And as the days begin to pass,
A little girl with an open heart
Begins to change and something grows,
A baby boy she's just betrothed

Mary goes for water in the middle of the day
Gossip burns more strongly than the sun
I wonder who's the father, she always seemed so good
Still it only goes to show you can never tell

Will the Son of God be a bastard boy
Will the Son of God have a room of toys
Will the Son of God have a crown of gold
Will the Son of God become grey and old

Will the Son of God suffer ridicule and shame
Will the Son of God, will he live up to his name
Will the Son of God, will he make his mother proud
Will she laugh or cry when she rolls away the shroud
...and their inspiration
Luke 1:26-35

In the sixth month of Elizabeth's pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Jospeh, a descendant of Kind David. Gabriel appeared to her and said, "Greetings, highly favoured woman! The Lord is with you."

Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angle could mean. "Don't be frightened, Mary," the angel told her, "for God has decided to bless you! You will become pregnant and have a son, and you are to name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. And he will reign over Israel for ever; his Kingdom will never end!"

Mary asked the angel, "But how can I have a baby? I am a virgin."

The angel replied, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby born to you will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God"

Matthew 1:18-25

Now this is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant by the Holy Spirit. Joseph her fiance, being a just man, decided to break the engagement quietly, so as not to disgrace her publicly. As he considered this, he fell asleep and an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. "Joseph, son of David," the angel said "do not be afraid to go ahead with your marriage to Mary. For the child within her has been conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins." All this happened to fulfill the Lord's message through his prophet:

"Look! The virgin will conceive a child!
She will give birth to a son,
and he will be called Immanuel
(meaning God with us)."

When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord commanded. He brought Mary home to be his wife, but she remained a virgin until her son was born. And Joseph named him Jesus
